How to keep the room temperature while cooling it

Close and insulate

In order to maintain the temperature in the air conditioned room as long as possible, it is a good idea to close and insulate your doors and windows. Thus, you will prevent the hot outdoor air from coming in and the already cooled indoor air from going out. Besides, external or internal insulation would also help you keep the set temperature longer.

Reduce the heat generated by different appliances

Some electrical appliances such as refrigerators and plasma TV sets generate large amounts of heat and warm the indoor air. We suggest turning these appliances off when you are not using them so as to reduce the heat they give off. Advise your family not to keep the fridge door open for too long.

Energy saving lighting

Ordinary luminaire and halogen bulbs generate an enormous amount of heat. In some lighting fixtures 80-90% of the energy is released as heat, which leads to warming the air in the room. We recommend that you replace your old light bulbs and lamps with LED lighting, which is significantly more effective, energy efficient and gives off no heat. Although it is almost insignificant, one bulb can affect your indoor temperature.

Cook your food early in the morning or late in the evening

Whenever it is possible, prepare your food early in the morning or late in the evening as stoves generate large amounts of heat, which significantly affects the temperature in the room. Make sure you use the kitchen extractor fan while preparing the food so as to absorb the heat and steam.

Blackout curtains block out the heat

Use tightly woven curtains with reflective abilities that keep the heat out or solid blinds. The use of curtains in the summer will prevent the sunlight from coming in, which will contribute to maintaining the temperature in the air conditioned room.

Close the entrance door

We recommend closing the entrance door immediately after going in or out as every time you open the door, hot outdoor air comes in. This also affects your indoor temperature.
