What is an audio intercom system?
An audio door phone system is a stand-alone system that is used for making calls between residents and visitors to the residential and business buildings and premises. The system allows making call to the visitor, and at your discretion, he can be given access to the building, or this access can be denied.
When the audio door phone system is combined with an access control system, the security of your home or office increases significantly compared to the conventional locking systems - cartridges and door locks.
Security is also ensured by the fact that only the door phone panel is installed at the entrance of the building, and all other important for the system and its security components are mounted on a hidden and safe place. Thus, the forcible manipulation and opening the door is limited.
It is highly recommended the audio door phone system to be combined with an access control system. The reason is that thereby you will get a maximum protection and control over who and when visits the building where you are.
Components of an audio intercom system
An audio door phone system consists of three main components – an audio door phone entry panel, an intercom receiver and an electronic lock mechanism on the front door.
Audio intercom entry panel
An audio door phone entry panel is mounted to the portal or door of the building. It consists of buttons for calling subscribers, a built-in microphone and a speaker for making calls between visitors and residents. For greater convenience and smooth twenty-four-hour functioning, call buttons are provided with address labels where names of residents can be written on and an elegant backlight for easy reading in the dark of the night.
Audio indoor phone receivers
Audio indoor phone receivers are installed in every room in the building where it is necessary. They come in different designs and colours, so that they can be an elegant addition to any interior. The receivers are designed for surface mount on a wall, i.e. it is not necessary to drill many and big holes and violate the design of the wall on which they will be mounted. The main functions of the audio indoor phone systems are to allow residents to talk to the visitors and to give them access to the building by opening the front door. The advanced systems also offer other features such as activating the staircase lights or calling the elevator without even opening the entry door.
Electronic lock
The electronic lock is a modern analogue of the conventional locking systems - locks and cylinders. It has many advantages, the most important of which is that they last longer and are less likely to suffer break-in attempts. Last but not least, their mounting and value are very similar to those of the conventional mechanisms.
Cabling and mounting
The modern audio intercom systems are designed to be easy to mount and maintain. Whether the system will be mounted on a newly build construction or on an older property, the various types of cabling ensure compatibility and easy installation. The most common types of cabling audio doorphone systems are (in number of wires) - 1 + 1, 4 + 1, 4. The outdoor audio stations are available for both surface mount and hidden built-in mount – the choice is yours, and the result is a beautiful and safe building.
